Proud to be from the coast

Executive Chef Natasha Harris was born just outside of Ladysmith British Columbia, and fell in love with cooking at a very young age. Being from such a beautiful coastal community had a great influence on her cooking style, and Chef Harris became enamored with the amazing West Coast ingredients available to her right outside her door.

After working her way up in local restaurants and hotel management, Chef Harris completed her Chef training from Dubrulle in Vancouver, and received her pastry and food and wine pairing certifications shortly thereafter.

After working as a private chef for high level VPs in various Fortune 500 companies, Chef Harris tried her hand at commercial fishing and catering to large groups.

With her extensive knowledge of innovative culinary techniques and passion for using only locally sourced ingredients, Chef Harris brings a fresh and elegant approach to every dish she creates.

An Award Winning Recipe

Sunset Bay’s Executive Chef Natasha Harris and her team competed at this year’s Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown at the Vancouver Aquarium and came out victorious. The competition brings together 12 of Vancouver’s top chefs competing to support The Ocean Wise Foundation benefitting responsible “ocean friendly” fishing.

Chef Harris won the “People’s Choice Award” for best chowder of the competition… with competitor such as Yew Restaurant, O’Douls, and Coast among many Vancouver favourites. The award was the result of 550 voting ballots cast by the attending guests.
